FAQ’s

What is Muscle Activation Techniques?

MAT is a specific formulaic technique assessing muscular strength, imbalances, and joint stability. The techniques balance the muscular system by comparing it to YOUR own unique body; it’s a ‘jumpstart’ for your muscular system, aiding in more efficient and effective muscular contractions.

The Process…

  • ASSESS: Standing posture analysis coupled with a full-body range of motion screen.

  • CORRECT: Strategic and precise application of muscle testing and palpation, re-test the muscular contraction to ensure re-activation

  • REASSESS: Comparison to initial posture analysis and range of motion screen to ensure proper change, or if a change, of course, is needed.

  • INCREASE THRESHOLD: Precise, approachable homework exercises maintain, integrate, and progress any improvements.

Our Clients Feel…

  • STRONG: Improve the contractile capabilities of the muscles, leading to your improved global strength

  • GRACEFUL: Move with more ease

  • POWERFUL: Educate you about how your body works

  • RESILIENT: Help you to prevent injury as the overall function of the body is greatly enhanced

  • GROUNDED & CALM: Can reduce your aches and pains

  • STABLE: Help you recover more effectively from surgery or injury

How long are the sessions?

MAT sessions are either 50 or 80 minutes in length. To ensure optimal results, we always start with a detailed 80-minute assessment to understand your body's unique history and understand where we can assist you. From there, sessions will either be 50 or 80 minutes long, depending on the severity of the issue and/or personal preference.

How often do I need to come?

The frequency of visits is something we discuss with you in the first session based on our assessment findings. Most clients come either once a week or every other week to get started, then move to a “maintenance” frequency that is far less frequent, saving time and money but progresses the results.

What type of clothing should be worn?

Wear either loose or flexible clothing so that your limbs can be moved easily. No jeans, they are difficult to both assess and treat through.

What is your cancellation policy?

I require a 24-hour cancellation to avoid being charged 50% of the session rate.
